Our Small Wedding

Small weddings kick ass.

12 adults, 2 children & 2 dogs- this was our wedding. I understand that this is not everyones cup of tea but as smaller weddings may become the ‘norm’ going forward, I wanted to show that they can feel just as special.

After lots of back and forth, we decided to get married in our home…something not many people knew was possible! The house was lovingly decorated by our amazing mums, everything from hand-made bunting to dried flowers from my parents garden as confetti. We had a bathtub full of booze, a gazebo (for ‘just incase’ Scottish weather) and the dogs wore matching bow ties. Mid- ceremony our 4 year old niece filled the room with the loudest yawn and it was hi.la.rious. We toasted with champagne in the garden before heading to The Ox& Finch private dining room for the most delicious wedding day feast! Joolz made the kids wedding favours loaded with toys for the dinner table while the adults got personalised gift boxes. The evening was spent dancing to our Reggae playlist and eating more cake after we swore we were too full for another bite. The next day and every day since then we’ve had our morning coffees in the room we got married in…which is pretty cool.

Our day was perfect for us and Julia and I loved every moment of it. It was simple and easy. We concentrated on the closest members of our family and having the BEST suppliers.
